TRANSITION YOUR WARDROBE
Autumn is my favourite season – a crisp morning with clear blue skies and a slight chill in the air? That’s my idea of heaven.
But she’s taking her sweet time this year. Us Brits have been fortunate enough to have one of the longest, hottest summers on record. And whilst it’s been a real picnic, I’m kind of over it. I want layers and hot chocolate and dare I say it even a little bit of rain?
We’re at a weird place, the weather and I. Getting dressed in the morning is like playing the lottery – it’s not likely that I’ll win. But I have discovered some hero pieces from & Other Stories over the last month that have helped me take a step in the right direction.
So, please, let me introduce to you my transitional wardrobe items, worn two ways.
The blazer is the hero piece here. It’s thick, sturdy and structured – basically three words that we all love to hear. It bridges the gap between a jacket and a coat beautifully and with such a neutral tone, it goes with SO much.
HOW TO WEAR ANIMAL PRINT
The first look channels a more androgynous feel. Paired with brogues and cords it feels smart but comfortable.
For the cooler days we’ve been having (albeit sporadically) I’ve been wearing the blazer with these leopard print cords. I owned a pair pretty similar when I was 17 and am now old enough to say ‘Gah, I wish I hadn’t thrown out my wardrobe from when I was younger!!!!’ Alas, I did – but these are a replacement I can most certainly get on board with.
Look number two is upping the femininity and rocking a heel with a bare leg.
Keeping the animal print theme in tow, I’ve dug out my old trusty pair of Duo Boots, which I’ve now had for two seasons and are still going strong. Clashing prints is something I’m a big fan of and animal print is no exception.
I’ve always said that I wanted one really gorgeous leather skirt in my wardrobe and I’ve 200% found it in this croco print. I adore the deep purple shade and the structured fit.
So if you’re looking for a dash of inspiration for you’re A/W wardrobe, I hope you’ll have found a pinch here!
